Retirement Coaching

Lifestyle Retirement Planning

Over 11,000 Americans and Canadians retire daily at an average age of 58 years. If you have already or are planning to do it soon, you can expect to be retired for 20, 30 or more years.

If you plan it properly, this life state has the potential to be the most secure, enjoyable, purposeful, and meaningful time of your life. If you do not plan your retirement, you give away your power to your life circumstances and become their victim. You are then at risk of living a boring, depressing, and unfulfilling existence.

It is best to start planning 5 or more years before you reach retirement. Yet, if you are already retired, it is never too late to take charge of your life. Today is the right time to plan or improve your retirement life no matter what your age or situation is.

The Financial Planning Industry has helped people see that a solid financial plan integrating your various sources of income such as pension plans, social security, savings and retirement income is an essential requirement. Many have hired a financial planner or advisor just to manage their investments so they can meet their retirement needs. However, planning your retirement life to take into account your physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs is equally important since financial security is only the pre-requisite for a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Why Retirement Coaching?

Can you plan a successful retirement lifestyle without a retirement coach? Of course you can. If you know exactly what you want for your life, you are comfortable making your transition and you can deal with normal unexpected contingencies, then you are in good shape.

Just remember however, that Retirement Planning is about more than the retirement party, the long awaited vacation, moving to a retirement community, golfing, and spending time with family. In addition to financial security and leisure, most people who retire want a life rich with meaning, purpose, productivity, enrichment, learning, adventure, freedom, integrity, and peace of mind. Is this not what you want?

You are the expert and creator of your life, but I am an expert in Life change, in Retirement planning and Prosperity manifestation. Do you want your transition to be joyful and easy? Do you want to feel empowered to create a truly great retirement in alignment with your core values and dreams? Do you want a feeling of financial security and prosperity to support this time of your life?

Whether you are thinking about retirement in the years to come or are already retired but not satisfied with your life, as a Certified Retirement Coach, I can help you plan a smooth, productive, and meaningful retirement. Take a look below at some additional benefits of retirement coaching and what we can work on together.

  • Ensuring you keep your integrity and balance during the transition
  • Steering you away from costly and painful “mistakes”

What we can do together in Coaching:

Up to 79% of baby boomers do not want a traditional retirement.
Over 55% of boomers want to participate in community in some way
About 44% of retiring people have as a top priority where they will live.

So most retiring people have the same kinds of questions and issues to deal with but everyone has a different and personal answer for these questions. Through retirement coaching, I can help you find your own answers in regards to:

WORK: Do you still want or need to work, if so, how much, when, and where? Is consulting, mentoring or a new calling in the cards?

HEALTH/ILLNESS: How do you maintain your physical health and vitality? Or how do you manage your physical limitations so they do not impede your lifestyle?

FINANCES: Are you feeling prosperous and able to meet your financial needs for your retired life? Do you have beliefs that could sabotage your financial security?

LEISURE: How do you want to relax and spend your free time? Do you want to develop new hobbies, travel, or be part of clubs or associations?

HOME: Is a retirement community, a foreign country, an apartment, or the cottage for you or do prefer to stay put at home?

LEARNING: Do you want to go back to school or share with others what you know?

SOCIAL: Does leaving work mean you need to develop new friendships?

VOLUNTEERING: Do you want to volunteer or contribute in some way to society and leave a personal legacy?

DREAMS/PROJECT: Do you have a life long dream or project that you want to now explore and pursue?

FAMILY: How do you balance your parents’ and children’s needs versus your own?

PARTNER: How will you get along with your spouse when you are so much more together? What will you do together? Are your retirement plans similar?

LIFE PURPOSE:  What is your life purpose and how do you manifest it?

LOSSES/CHANGE: How do you deal with losses and manage change in your life without losing control or balance?

AGING: What is your attitude towards aging? Do you feel old or young and vital at heart?

IDENTITY/GROWTH: Who are you under these work and family roles and identities? How can you develop your full potential? What is the meaning of your life? How do you achieve peace of mind, harmony, transcendence and wholeness during this phase of your life?

So if you are ready to have a happy, successful and meaningful retirement, call me now.

As a Certified Retirement Coach, I also offer my clients two professional programs to evaluate their retirement readiness and their ideal retirement lifestyle:

 The Retirement Success Program

The heart of the program is the Retirement Success Profile (RSP) ©. It reviews the 15 retirement transition factors that are critical for success for people over 50 planning their retirement or those already retired. Developed by gerontologist Dr Richard Johnson, Founder of Retirement Options, this has now been given to over 25,000 people over the past 18 years.

The Retirement Success Program has four components:

1. The Assessment: The Retirement Success Profile (RSP)
2. The Companion Book: The New Retirement
3. Life Transition Personal Insight Activities

4. Powerful questions for personal activation

The Retirement Success Program has 3 steps:

  1) You first take The Retirement Success Profile (RSP) © on-line. This takes about 15-20 minutes.

2)You then receive a 20+page RSP Personalized Interpretive Report. As your retirement coach, I help you analyze this report in-depth to identify your personal areas of strengths and those you need to focus on to improve your readiness.

3) Finally, we work together to create a personal retirement mission statement, design your personal Retirement Options plan and support you in its implementation.

 The LifeOptions Program

The centerpiece of the program is The LifeOptions Profile (LOP) also created by Dr. Johnson. The LOP brings vivid color to provide you with a relevant self-portrait of your overall lifestyle needs as you are preparing for a transition from your current work life into your dream lifestyle.

The LifeOptions Program has four components:

1. The Assessment: The LifeOptions Profile (LOP).
2. The Companion Book: What Color is Your Retirement?
3. Lifestyle Insight & Involvement Exercises
4. Powerful questions for specific goal setting and “next steps”

The Life Options Program has 3 steps as well:

1) The LifeOptions Profile is a 99-item assessment instrument that covers 20 separate lifestyle factors arranged into six life arenas: career, health, finances, family and relationships, leisure and social and personal growth. The Profile is taken over the internet and produces a 10 page personal assessment.

3) Using the book What Color is Your Retirement as a guide, we can clarify your values and needs and develop an action plan to create your ideal retirement lifestyle.
